%How Are Status Levels Updated?
We have heard feedback from the community that achieving the 20% ongoing reductions for Gold is a bit too steep of a challenge for most folks.
We’re excited to announce upcoming status level changes that will cast a wider net across the community. What does this mean? More of our community will receive the status level bonuses as you save more and more energy. Here’s the rundown:
- In order to achieve Gold status, you will only need to save an average 15% over the previous 20 #OhmHours.
- In order to achieve Platinum status, you will need to save an average 40% over the previous 20 #OhmHours.
In order to afford awarding more users #OhmHour status level bonuses, the bonuses will also be updated to the following:
- Gold status is now worth a 50% bonus (for example, a 100 point #OhmHour would be worth 150 points if you’re in Gold)
- Platinum status is now worth a 100% bonus (for example, a 100 point #OhmHour would be worth 200 points if you’re in Platinum)
To be specific, these bonuses are applied to your ‘base points’ for the #OhmHour and then your streak bonus (if applicable) is added.
You will start to see these new status level bonuses take effect August 18th. You will, of course, retain the points you have already earned with the old status level bonuses for your past #OhmHours.
We’re excited to see our community of energy savers start to increase their ongoing #OhmHour reductions to get into the new and easier Gold status level.
